Tamago Sando

Tamago Sando uses simple Ingredients in Egg Salad: Salt, Pepper, Sugar, 1 tbsp Kewpie Mayo (add according to desired taste)

Directions: Put one egg into small pot and fill water up to the top of the egg, put in a dash of salt to make for easier peeling later. Set heat on high and cook for 14 minutes. Then turn off stove, pour out the hot water and pour cold water, keep doing this until the egg has cooled down. (This helps stop the egg from cooking further. Peel the egg and using a fork, smash the egg, add in ingredients, and mix well.

In the picture below, I added a slice of turkey and provolone cheese, on the wheat bread is miracle whip and spicy brown mustard. (Optional)

The Chinese Takeout Bento

Too lazy or tired to cook? Then just gather a few ingredients together to make a yummy bento. I bought the Soy Sauce Chicken at Pacific Super, got the Chinese food at my parents' restaurant, and since I froze all the cream cheese Rangoon last night, I only need to fry them.

Freezing the Rangoon is a brilliant idea and I think it's good to make a bunch of Rangoon and only fry the amount that you need so it doesn't go to waste. I only fried two and put the rest back in the freezer. I topped the Rangoon off with some plum sauce.

I'm still learning to eat quinoa and brown rice so I only took out a small portion and microwaved it, and put the rest back in the freezer. My mom bought the quinoa and brown rice from Costco and you can just take out the amount you need and microwave for 1-2 minutes depending on your microwave settings.

I cut up some strawberries and pineapple cuz a bento can't be complete without some fruit. I put everything into my bento box and here's the result:

Plum Sauce

I decided to try Plum Sauce with Cream Cheese Rangoon for the first time today. I usually eat Rangoon with sweet n sour our sweet chilli sauce. The plum sauce was a perfect sauce with cream cheese Rangoon so I urge you to give it a try!

Fried Cream Cheese Rangoon

Cheesy Beef Wonton

Ingredients: Ground beef (I just used two hamburger patties), broccoli, potato, mozzarella, almond, 1/2 tsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, 1/2 tsp of pepper, one egg to meld ingredients together.

Directions: Mix ingredients all together in bowl. Crack an egg and dip wonton wrapper on all edges then scoop a tsp to the middle of the wrapper, fold in half like a triangle, then gather the edges of the triangle and slightly wet one side with the egg mixture or water, overlap it. Fry it in Canola oil, I use Canola oil cuz I find it to be the best frying oil, it has Omega-3. Make sure to turn it over after one minute to cook both sides well.

Banana Raisin Chocolate Dipped Waffle

There were some ripe bananas that I didn't want to go to waste so I decided to use them to make banana raisin waffles. I took two ripe bananas and mashed them with a fork and added them to the waffle batter and added a few raisins, a dash of nutmeg and mixed it altogether. After the waffles were done, I melted some candy melts in the microwave for a minute and half (more or less depending on your microwave). Then I dipped the waffles into them and sprinkled shredded coconut on top. Let it chill in the fridge for 15 minutes and enjoy!!!

Sunday Brunch

Sunday Brunch Bento filled with: Tilapia, Lettuce, Yellow Pickled Radish, Fried Rice, Quinoa & Brown Rice, Seaweed, Noodles, Egg, Soy Sauce, Strawberry, Nectarine, Grape, and a glass of 2% milk for a complete balanced breakfast cuz it's the most important meal of the day.

Today I decided to make BBQ Buffalo Wings by mixing BBQ sauce with 'Frank's Buffalo Wings Sauce'. I baked them in the oven at 500 degrees for 30 minutes turning them over half way done. Then I tossed them with the sauce and put them back in the oven and broiled on high for 10 minutes (5 min on each side). Enjoy!!!

Pizza Burger

Instead of throwing away the burnt hamburger buns from the restaurant, I usually make garlic bread but today I decided to make pizza bread aka pizza burger (maybe I should call it pizza burger cuz it's on a hamburger bun?) I used leftovers in the fridge to make the pizza burger. First I spread some spaghetti sauce, sprinkled some cheese, then placed the pepperoni on top. I baked at 400 degrees for 7 minutes. I had already pre cooked the pepperoni so that's why I didn't have to cook it too long in the oven, I just watched to see that the cheese melted. You should give it a try when you make mistakes, you can often times use them for something else.

Turkey Spam Musubi

I wanted to try out the Musubi maker that I bought at Daiso. The mold is meant for making two musubi at a time so it's a bit tricky to use. I used Korean seaweed laver instead of the regular Japanese Nori. I used regular long grain rice (short grain is better for sushi rice) and mixed in Korean seaweed (it comes in shredded small pieces) and sushi seasoning.

For the marinade: 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup brown sugar, half of lemon squeezed, 1 tbsp of minced ginger, 2 star anise, mixture of 1 tbsp corn starch or tapioca starch with 1 tbsp water (to thicken sauce).

After I cooked the turkey spam in a skillet, I placed them inside a Tupperware container and using a strainer, I poured in the marinade. I shook the Tupperware so that the marinade covers all the spam completely. The first time I made musubi, I just brushed on the marinade on one side and the result is that you only get one side that has this nice flavor and the other side is lacking. By marinating the whole thing, you get all the flavor once you bite into the musubi and I'm a fan of delicious flavor.

Tips: Keep a small bowl of water to keep your fingers clean and to wet the nori to close up the seaweed. Place Saran Wrap on the bottom of the nori so the rice won't stick to your plate and it ill be easier to roll later.

Pizza Croissant

I found a Philsbury crescent roll in the fridge so I decided to use the leftover spaghetti sauce to make a pizza in a croissant. I rolled the whole dough into a ball and flattened it out with a rolling pin, placed the filling: pepperoni, smoked turkey, pineapple, spaghetti sauce, mozzarella cheese in the middle, cut the edges on both sides like piano keys and folded it over crisscross, then cracked one egg and with a pastry brush, brushed it on top. Here's the result:

Taco

Using fresh ingredients makes the best tacos. I made the guacamole using avocado, onion, tomato, Lemon Juice (I just squeezed fresh lemon juice from the lemon in our backyard), Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Seasoned Pepper, 1 tsp of Sugar, 1/2 tsp of Cayenne. I sautéed the ground turkey with minced garlic and onion, then added a little bit of onion powder and dark soy sauce. After the meat was cooked, I drained it then added the taco mix and 3/4 cup of water and continued to cook and simmer until the taco mix was well absorbed into the ground turkey. Tacos are a great way to get people to eat more veggies and to get the family to eat together. Happy Eating!! :)

Roast Beef Cheese Omelet

I grilled chopped onions with two slices of chopped roast beef. I used two eggs, 1/2 tsp of mirin, 1/2 tsp soy sauce, a pinch of pepper. After making the sheet of egg, I placed one slice of american cheese, the roast beef and grilled onions inside and folded it into a rectangle shape. I took a plate and flipped the omelet over to retain its shape. I topped it off with ketchup and Kewpie Japanese mayo.

Heart Flan

Bacon Tamagoyaki

I cooked 5 eggs, wrapped a sheet of Korean Nori around the Tamago, then cut them up. Then with one slice of cooked bacon, I wrapped it around the Tamago. It's a different way to have bacon and eggs in the morning or you can eat it as a snack or serve as an hor douerve.

Leftover Curry

Can you tell this is leftover curry? I just heated up curry from last nights dinner, heated up a chicken sandwich, and used the sandwich bread from it to make garlic bread. Didn't have to spend any money buying new ingredients.

Waffle Fries

We are now selling Waffle Fries at our restaurant for a limited time only.

Teddy Curry

I made the bear by molding it with my hands, I used Saran Wrap so it wouldn't be sticky. The ears are cut from honey roasted turkey. Using scissors, I cut a piece of nori for the eyes and mouth. I heated up a fried chicken patty with cheese and sliced it up. The boiled egg is molded from a hello kitty mold which I cut in half.

Japanese Curry

I made a big pot of Curry for dinner and I plan to use the rest of it tomorrow to make Curry Bread. I sautéed Shrimp & Chicken with: Garlic Salt, Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce, Seasoned Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic, and Onion. Then I cut up carrots, radish, potatoes, and added in the curry mix.

Mac N' Cheese w/Bacon

While the macaroni was cooking, I cooked up some turkey bacon, cut them up and mixed it in the Mac n cheese, along with 1/2 cup 2% milk, topped off with cheese, baked at 400 degrees F, for 15 minutes.

Spam Masubi

I don't have a masubi press so I just shaped the sushi rice into the shape of the spam. I used Turkey Spam, a Pineapple Teriyaki sauce that I heated up, I used a brush to spread the teriyaki sauce onto the spam.

Vietnamese Coffee

When you don't have a Vietnamese Coffee filter/maker, just use strong coffee. I used the leftover French Roast Coffee from our restaurant, it's a good way to use it instead of throwing it out and I add a bit of instant Vietnamese Coffee mix for added flavor. All that's left is adding ice and condense milk to your liking. I like to make Vietnamese Coffee aka Cafe Sua Da for the family as a Saturday & Sunday treat.

Heat & Serve

Buffalo Bites, Chicken Apple Sausage, Garlic Fries, Chicken & Vegetable Potstickers.
